Vineyard churches are home to all kinds of people with all kinds of callings. Some in the Vineyard are particularly called to what we might simply name “the life of the mind” — study in service of the Lord, his church, and his world. For such people, faithfulness looks like asking hard questions, solving complex problems, and cultivating through intellectual labor the kind of wisdom that serves the church, the neighborhood, and the world beyond. Many do this work inside academic institutions. Many others do not.

Vineyard Scholars exists for those who share something of this calling. We are a network of people committed to the slow, serious, and genuinely joyful work of using our minds — in research, conversation, and learning together — as an act of service to the Lord, his church, and his world.

Throughout the year we gather informally at major Vineyard events. Our flagship gathering is an annual conference, with plenary speakers, presentations of work from Vineyard folks, plenty of worship and prayer, and times of fellowship where lifelong friendships are built.
