Kingdom Living is a four-week sermon series on Acts 2:42–47, the short passage that describes the life of the first church. Vineyard Church of the Rockies built the series on a simple idea of discipleship: watch what Jesus did, do what he did, and repeat. They’ve shared their sermon notes so other churches can walk through the passage with their own people.
The series opens with verse 42 and the word “devoted,” which in Greek means reorganizing your life around something. It names two ways people miss that kind of devotion, committing to nothing or committing to the wrong things. From there it walks through the four practices the early church gave itself to: the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the Lord’s Supper, and prayer. Sermon 2 moves to verse 43 and the signs and wonders that followed. It encourages people to pray for the sick and step out in faith, and it’s honest about the times prayer doesn’t go the way we hoped, which makes it a good fit for churches that want to grow in this without pressure or shame.
Sermon 3 looks at verses 44–46 and four marks of a community people are drawn to: sharing life, living on mission, worshiping together, and giving with joy. It has a lot to say about tables and hospitality and about generosity as a source of joy. Sermon 4 closes with verse 47 and the questions it raises: saved from what, and saved for what? It traces the seven “progress reports” in Acts, where the message keeps spreading in every circumstance, and ends with a call to invite others into the life of the church.

The outlines give you plenty to work with and leave room for your own stories and your church’s context.
