The Lafayette Vineyard Church Worship Leader is the lead worshipper in a community of worshippers. LVC’s highest priority is, the corporate worship of the Living God. Everything else flows from creating an atmosphere of worship in the hearts of the people and in a corporate sense the community at large. The job of the Worship Leader is to create a team of Holy Spirit led musicians and vocalists giving God their very best, that lead people in a worship experience inviting the manifest presence of God to make Himself tangible to the congregation.
This is more than a job, it is a calling, a gifting, and a deeply valued responsibility.
Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Pray consistently for the worship team, individual members, and every gathering.
• Partner with Lead Pastors to cultivate an atmosphere where the presence and power of the Holy Spirit are welcomed and experienced.
• Lead Spirit-filled, prophetic worship that encourages freedom, expectancy, and congregational participation.
• Plan and lead Sunday worship at least twice monthly.
• Recruit, disciple, train, and develop worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and tech teams.
• Develop worship team members spiritually, relationally, and musically.
• Create room for spontaneous and Spirit-led moments while maintaining excellence and healthy leadership.
• Oversee worship for home groups, outreaches, prayer gatherings, and special events.
• Champion a worship culture that reaches and empowers the next generation while honoring every generation.
• Pursue excellence personally in musicianship, vocals, preparation, and spiritual leadership.
• Stay connected to Spirit-filled worship movements, new music, training, and resources.
• Steward schedules, rehearsals, budgets, and ministry resources with excellence.
• Provide pastoral care, build strong relationships, and actively participate in the life of the church.
• Carry and strengthen the church’s vision, values, and culture of the presence of God.
Skills include:
• We prefer at least 2 years experience leading worship in a church or ministry.
• Must be proficient in keys or guitar
• Must have strong vocal skills and range
• Experience and knowledge with slide show platforms (i.e. pro-presenter, proclaim, etc.)
• Must have knowledge and or experience in sound system management
