My name is Carlos Morales; my wife is Carmen Gutierrez. We are co-pastors at Metro Vineyard Church in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We joined pastors Ed and Pam Chilcott back in 2007 after meeting them through a radio ministry.
Our hearts were touched by them. They were reaching the poor and the homeless in our community, which was what their hearts were called to do, and thatâs what we felt led to do as well. We felt called to work beside them. So we joined them for what was supposed to be one year, but the Lord has prompted us to stay. We started out with Vineyard Bible Institute to learn Godâs Word.
During the last two years we were with them, they became ill and had to return to the States. We didnât know for how long, but we were asked to step in and âhold down the fort,â as you might say. We were installed as pastors after it was determined that Ed and Pam would be out indefinitely. While we didnât feel prepared for that yet, the Lord was ready for us and has called us to this work.
This is part of our history now. Weâre there, and know that God is the one that is guiding and directing us.
