Vineyard Leadership Essentials
Equipping the local church to develop and raise up leaders from within their own congregation.
Why VLE?
We care deeply about developing leaders. In a world full of plentiful leadership materials and programs, it can be difficult to find resources that fit a Vineyard church context. VLE is designed to provide a leadership development framework that centers on the key Vineyard distinctives. Leadership is best learned through relationships, which is why VLE empowers local church leaders to mentor participants - to strengthen community and relational connections that endure beyond the VLE process.
What will participants learn?
As participants in VLE learn to lead themselves, lead others, lead leaders, and lead ministries, they complete online training modules on a variety of topics:
- Emotional health and spiritual formation as leaders
- Discipleship and disciple-making
- Growing healthy teams
- Reading the Bible
- Doing Kingdom ministry
- Navigating conflict
- Discerning calling
Who created the content?
All of the content in VLE was created by Vineyard leaders from across the country who understand first-hand the challenges and beauty of helping people grow as leaders. Their shared wisdom and experience helped us create a well-rounded leadership process covering various topics that pull from the Vineyard’s rich history and enduring values. Their collective insight is a true gift!
What is the commitment?
VLE Foundations 1 and 2 are each 9-month programs primarily conducted online. The coursework includes videos, opportunities for reflection, and prompts to respond to the content. Participants also have in-person mentoring sessions twice a month. On average, participants and mentors should expect to dedicate about 10 hours per month to the program.
VLE is provided free of charge to Vineyard churches.
