A Dream for Charleston

Tim Wheeler, Site Pastor for The Vineyard Church, Charleston, IL, shares how God is moving in his community.

In 2010, my wife and moved back to Illinois from Syracuse, NY, where we were part of the Vineyard. We had a dream of seeing a Vineyard church in Charleston, so we started working with Happy and Di Leman to begin gathering people.

About a year ago, we had 25 or so people meeting on Sunday nights with a dream of seeing a local Vineyard congregation in Charleston. On September 30th of last year, we launched Sunday morning services in a little building behind a bar close to Eastern Illinois University campus.

Now we have about 100 people that come faithfully each week to our services. Recently we celebrated 7 baptisms in our church. It’s been such a blessing to see people come to know Jesus and be transformed.
