Help Me Learn To Obey You
“God has reminded me repeatedly that I really do want to be obedient to him. Iāve found myself, from time to time, praying this kind of a prayer, āGod, forget about what Iāve done and said in the last few months. I long to obey You. Help me to resist myself. Help me, Father, learn to obey You.ā
He seems to be answering that prayer, because as I look at the characteristic of my life the last thirty-plus years, I find myself progressively learning to obey him. And itās not so tough. Jesus said it would work out that way. He invited those who feel weary and burdened to come to him and take on his yoke, and then promised to give them rest and refreshment. Jesus then gave the reason why we can obey when he added, āFor my yoke is easy and my burden is light.ā Thatās Jesusā perspective on life with himā¦and itās truth.”
