As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be highlighting several incredible leaders from Vineyard USA’s Hispanic Association!
As a Latino, Eddie’s passion and heart is to advocate for his sisters and brothers along the Southern Border and in Latin America.
Upon arriving at Vineyard Church North Phoenix in March 2007, Eddie and his wife Michelle were hungry for community and got involved in a small group right away, then began taking leadership classes and serving. Eddie completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Management, and then began a seminary program and was offered a pastoral position at VCNP in 2019. Eddie feels strongly that “everyone gets to play” and his heart is for the people who don’t think they’re worthy to serve, especially “nuestra familia Latina”. He has a vision for a diverse church that grows together and is a glimpse of what heaven might look like – a church full of people who are empowered to do the work that Jesus has called us to, and who make an impact in the surrounding community. One way that Eddie makes an impact in his community is through his work with The Immigration Coalition. “Our call as Christians is to love people, regardless of their documentation status. Are we being the hands and feet of Jesus, are we welcoming the stranger?”
His encouragement to Hispanic pastors is an echo of pastor Rubén Quintero’s words: “We may not see change right away, and we may not be the ones to see this work through, but we are building off a foundation that has already been laid, by people like Ray Maldonado, Jr. It may be a new season, but it’s not a new work.” Eddie also says, “Geno Olison preached that there is a difference between a church being open and being welcoming. We must continually ask if we are considering others in our decisions, and if we are creating an experience that is welcoming to everyone.”

Como latino, la pasión y el corazón de Eddie es defender a sus hermanas y hermanos a lo largo de la frontera sur y en América Latina.

Daniel and Nicole are passionate about worship and serving Latino communities in the United States, and their most recent project is tackling the Vineyard Worship song catalog and working to translate them in a way that captures the heart and poetry of the lyrics.
These songs will live in a facet of Vineyard Worship known as Adoración Viña. This is an incredible investment of time, energy, and love. They are also excited and grateful to work with a translation team from a number of different countries to collaborate with releasing official, quality translated songs that will serve Viñas in the US and internationally. Daniel and Nicole dream of writing more original songs in Spanish and hope to empower other songwriters to do the same. They hope to see future albums released that are a combination of translated, bilingual, and original songs, with the understanding that there are currently first, second, and third-plus generations in our Viña congregations.
While the primary goal of this project is to create resources for Spanish-speaking worshippers, they are also considering how to best serve English-speaking churches who want to take the step toward multicultural worship expressions. Their encouragement for pastors and worship leaders who would like to offer a more multicultural worship experience is to spend time learning about your neighbors from other cultures and their worship expressions: listening to their songs, singing their songs, and making these songs part of your personal worship. “Multicultural environments can sometimes feel uncomfortable, but we can approach them humbly and with an honest heart, with the intention to make space “at the table” to create a way for all people to connect. When we are intentional about this, our efforts to welcome others in could be received as authentic, even if they’re not perfect.”
Nicole and Daniel are approaching this project with a lot of prayer. They hope to honor those who have invested time into translating songs in the past, and they look with hope toward the future.

A Daniel y Nicole les apasiona la adoración, y servir a las comunidades latinas en los Estados Unidos. Su proyecto más reciente es abordar el repertorio de canciones de Vineyard Worship, y trabajar para traducirlas de una manera que capture el corazón y la poesía de las letras. Estas canciones vivirán en una faceta de Vineyard Worship conocida como Adoración Viña. Es una increíble inversión de tiempo, energía y amor. También están entusiasmados y agradecidos de trabajar con un equipo de traducción de varios países diferentes, para colaborar en el lanzamiento de canciones oficiales traducidas de calidad, que servirán a Viñas en los EE. Su estímulo para los pastores y líderes de adoración que deseen ofrecer una experiencia de adoración multicultural, es que dediquen tiempo a aprender sobre sus vecinos de otras culturas y sus expresiones de adoración: escuchando sus canciones, cantándolas y haciendo de estas canciones, parte de su adoración personal. “Los entornos multiculturales a veces pueden resultar incómodos, pero podemos abordarlos con humildad y con un corazón honesto, con la intención de hacer espacio “en la mesa” para crear una manera en que todas las personas se conecten. Cuando somos intencionales en esto, nuestros esfuerzos por dar la bienvenida a otros podrían ser recibidos como auténticos, incluso si no son perfectos”.
Nicole y Daniel están abordando este proyecto con mucha oración. Esperan honrar a quienes han invertido tiempo en traducir canciones en el pasado y miran con esperanza hacia el futuro.
