Worship Leader

The Worship Leader leads and oversees the worship ministry and volunteers. Ministry Leaders form a vital tier of leadership that facilitates the execution of the mission of the church. The Worship Leader role offers flexible hours, with required on-site presence on Sunday mornings and Thursdays for practice. The position entails weekly interactions with church staff and leadership, access to professional equipment, and a budget dedicated to developing the worship ministry. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. This part-time role, requiring 15-20 hours per week, reports directly to the Senior Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to lead a band vocally and instrumentally. Core agreement with Vineyard values of worship and the operation of the Holy Spirit in ministry, as well as Vineyard’s values, statement of faith, and policies. Must be in process towards spiritual maturity, teachable, trustworthy, humble to follow and able to lead. This leader must have passion, experience, and competencies in working with people of all ages and spiritual maturities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

–       Plan and lead worship for Sunday services and church events, including rehearsals,
song selection, and equipment maintenance. Work with the sound and media team to ensure a coordinated experience.

–       Recruit, audition, and mentor new team members, providing musical and spiritual encouragement. Work with youth worship team members in developing their skills and transitioning to adult worship teams when ready.

–       Manage schedules, worship tech systems (Planning Center, ProPresenter), and copyright compliance. Maintain the worship budget and oversee equipment care.

–       Develop, communicate, and implement a vision for the worship ministry to support the mission of the Vineyard Church.

–       Organize and implement ministry studies, events, retreats, projects, and activities.

–       Regularly attend Sunday mornings and assist in the planning and execution of whole church events.

–       Manage applicable budgets, maintain equipment and supplies.

IN GENERAL:

The worship leader supports the Pastoral Team in achieving the Church’s mission and vision by developing and sustaining a team dedicated to fostering a creative worship culture. Additionally, the worship leader oversees worship experiences in various Vineyard ministries and activities.
