Family Life Pastor

JOB FUNCTION

Responsible for supporting and strengthening families by overseeing ministries that focus on the care of marriage, parenting, and family. This includes creating resources, classes, and providing pastoral care to help families grow spiritually and relationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Family Ministry

• Cast the vision, and administrate the plan, to grow and care for families of all stages at the church
• Develop and lead parenting workshops, classes, and resources to equip parents with biblical principles and practical tools for raising children in the Lord
• Oversee the success of Vineyard Kids through regular accountability, leadership development, and support of the Vineyard Kids Director

Marriage Ministry

• Cast the vision, and administrate a plan, for the growth and care of marriages in our congregation
• Responsible for the oversight and administration of the wedding and pre-marital process
• Officiate weddings

Funeral Ministry

• Officiate funerals
• Oversight of the funeral process, including the bereaved family, funeral home, etc.
• Collaborate with the bereaved to plan and personalize funeral services

Pastoral Care

• Provide care, prayer, and spiritual guidance to individuals and families during times of need such as crisis, grief, illness, and transition

Preach and Teach

• Active member of the preaching team

Perform all other duties as assigned or apparent

QUALIFICATIONS

• A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Firm rhythm built for personal devotion and time in the Word
• Openness to the power and presence of the Holy Spirit
• Can train & equip leaders
• Dependable, detailed, organized, and a good time-manager
• Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and team members
