Role Summary
We’re looking for a fun, strategic, and spiritually grounded leader to oversee and grow VineyardKids, our ministry for children from birth through 5th grade. VineyardKids is already built on a strong foundation—you’ll have the opportunity to strengthen it, bring fresh ideas, and help it flourish.

This role is ideal for someone who loves building teams, engaging families, creating welcoming spaces, and helping kids experience God’s love in real and joyful ways. You’ll work closely with our pastoral team to align VineyardKids with the broader church vision and create an environment where every child is known, valued, and empowered to live everyday life with Jesus.

Key Responsibilities
VineyardKids Oversight (15–20 hours/week)

• Team Development: Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers for Sunday mornings and family events.
• Programming: Select and prepare engaging curriculum that teaches Vineyard theology (Kingdom of God, healing, hearing God’s voice, already/not yet) in fun, age-appropriate ways.
• Sunday Experience: Ensure classrooms are safe, welcoming, and full of connection, learning, and laughter.
• Family Engagement: Build relationships with parents and equip them to disciple their kids throughout the week.
• Systems Management: Oversee volunteer scheduling, background checks, check-in systems, safety procedures, and communication.
• Family Events: Plan and help lead occasional family-friendly events that are relational, joyful, and inviting to the community.

General Pastoral & Team Responsibilities

• Staff Collaboration: Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with the team to integrate VineyardKids into the life of the church.
• Church-wide Involvement: Represent VineyardKids in outreach events, seasonal celebrations, and vision casting.
• Next Gen Partnership: Help create smooth transitions for kids as they grow and move into student ministry.

Qualifications

• A vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus
• Experience in children’s ministry leadership (volunteer or paid)
• Strong organizational, relational, and communication skills
• A passion for building systems and empowering others to lead
• Comfort with Vineyard values and theology (or a willingness to learn)
• Creativity, flexibility, and a good sense of humor!

Bonus Strengths

• Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds
• Education or background in child development, teaching, or counseling
• Gifts in storytelling, worship, drama, games, or arts
• A deep love for snacks, silly games, and spontaneous dance parties (optional… but awesome)
