Worship Director or Pastor (Full-Time, 40-45 hrs/week)
Syracuse Vineyard Church
You Were Made for This.
We believe God moves through peopleâordinary people empowered by His Spirit. Weâre looking for a worship director (or pastor, depending on the candidate) whoâs not just musically gifted, but who deeply values creating space where people can encounter Jesus, be formed by His love, and sent out with His purpose. Youâll lead worship at our growing State Fair Site and support the worship culture across all Vineyard sites: Auburn, Syracuse, and Español. Youâll be a core part of our mission to multiply multicultural communities of Jesus followers that make disciples, grow leaders, serve the poor, and seek justice.
This is more than a job. Itâs a calling to be part of a team thatâs passionate, joy-filled, and âall inâ on mission together.
What Youâll Do.
- Lead the Church in Worship
Plan and lead weekly worship sets that are Vineyard, authentic, Spirit-led, diverse, and accessibleâhelping people from all backgrounds connect with God. Lead worship at the State Fair Site 9am and 10:30am services, Syracuse Site at 11:30, and Español at 2:30pm. - Build and Equip Worship Teams
Develop a multicultural group of musicians and vocalists by modeling excellence, inviting growth, and creating a team culture marked by fun, trust, and spiritual depth. - Support Multi-Site Ministry
Help strengthen and support the worship expressions at our Auburn, Syracuse, and Español sitesâwhether thatâs coaching team leaders, helping onboard new volunteers, or syncing up planning. Will require local travel to support sites. - Create with Purpose
Work with site pastors and communicators to design cohesive, engaging Sunday experiencesâworship that feels like âusâ and reflects what Godâs doing in our church. Engage with VineyardUSA and leverage resources for the benefit of our teams. - Stay Spiritually and Emotionally Healthy
Lead from a place of health, keeping rhythm with rest, connection with God, and meaningful community. - Manage the Details
Use Planning Center and Multitracks to organize setlists, schedule teams, and make sure Sunday flows well and people feel cared for. - Additional Pastoral or Technical Duties
Depending on your passions, skills, and willingness to learn, this position may include additional duties of production/tech, IT, facilities, pastoral care, or discipleship/formation.
What You Bring.
- A growing relationship with Jesus and love for His Church, specifically the Vineyard expression.
- Experience leading corporate worship in a church context (preferably 200+ people and multiple teams). Must be familiar with playing with click and tracks.
- Confidence and excellence as a vocalist and musician (guitar or keys preferred).
- An eye for team-building and discipleship: You love helping others grow.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A heart for multi-ethnic, multi-generational ministry.
- Alignment with Vineyard theology and ethosâor openness to learning and embracing it.
Who You Are.
You donât have to be perfect, but hereâs what we hope describes you:
- Fun â You laugh easily and create a culture of joy.
- Always Equipping â You empower others, not just do the job.
- All-In on Mission â You say âyesâ to the big picture, not just your part.
- Spirit-Dependent â Youâre led by Godâs voice and presence.
- Servant Leader â You show up, go first, and lead by example.
- Respectful Communicator â You listen well and speak with honor and clarity.
- Emotionally Healthy â Youâre growing in self-awareness, honesty, and wholeness.
