The Already And The Not Yet
“As his church, we have been given the opportunity to participate in the extension of Jesusâ sovereign reign every time we pray. The Father is about the business of redeeming mankind not only from their sin, but from the effects of sin as well. In fact, Jesus taught us to pray, âyour will be done on earth as it is in heaven â (Matthew 6:10). This admonition reveals the heart of Godâthat we experience deliverance from sin at every level. Jesusâ ministry demonstrated this passion when he not only pronounced forgiveness over people, but healed the sick, raised the dead, and cast out their demons as well.
When we are faced with overwhelming circumstances, we find ourselves asking God to overrule the natural consequences of our pain. We want miracles, yet we also know that everything will ultimately be made right when we enter our eternal home with the Lord.”
